ISD Engine Controller V2 for 1/2700 Revell/Zvezda Imperial Star Destroyer
Bring the ISD’s engines to life with a startup and glow that reads as heavy, cinematic thrust rather than toy-like blinking. Version 2 introduces a staged soft start—each of the three main engines spools up in sequence, then the four secondaries come in together—followed by a natural “breathing” intensity. On top of that, every engine LED has its own subtle, independent shimmer, so nothing pulses in perfect sync. The result looks great to the eye and even better on camera.
Compared to the first controller, v2 is a clear step up in both realism and flexibility. The original offered basic blinking speed and color adjustments; v2 adds time-based smoothing for speed control, per-LED micro-variation, and far more capacity for auxiliary lighting. If you’re upgrading mid-build or starting fresh, the tuning range is wide but forgiving, so you can dial a look that fits your paint, diffusion, and lensing.
Controls are straightforward. You can set separate pulse speeds for the main and secondary engines, choose color for each bank independently, trim the overall white mix for the engines, and pick how deep the “breathing” effect goes—from subtle to more pronounced—without harsh strobing. Extra lights get their own color control and white mix as well, so hull accents and bays don’t have to match the engine hue.
Lighting capacity has grown significantly. The board provides four accessory ports: two for RGB fiber-optic couplers with adjustable color and white mix, and two for bright-white fiber-optic couplers. Each bright-white port can drive up to 16 LEDs, bringing the total number of additional LEDs to as many as 40 when fully populated. (Accessories are available separately.) The first-generation controller supported six.

Installation notes
Designed for 5 V systems. Pair with your preferred diffusion and fiber bundle routing. The soft-start sequence and per-LED shimmer are built in; all adjustments are on the board’s potentiometers and can be tuned live on the bench.
