Cockpit Backlight LED Board Upgrade – Revision 2 for DeAgostini Millennium Falcon
The Cockpit Backlight LED Board has been updated to Revision 2.
This is the latest revision of our existing cockpit lighting upgrade for the 1/43 DeAgostini Millennium Falcon. It remains a direct replacement for the stock cockpit LED board and is designed to work with the stock cockpit and stock main circuit board.
Revision 2 introduces two major improvements:
• New fully integrated single-board design
The electronics are now completely integrated into one compact circuit board. The previous version used a separate Arduino-compatible control board mounted on the rear. Revision 2 combines the lighting and control electronics into a cleaner, single-board design.
• Three distinctive lighting animation modes
The original version featured one animated lighting pattern with adjustable speed. Revision 2 now includes three different cockpit lighting modes, giving you a wider variety of animated effects.
Both the animation mode and animation speed are controlled using the same potentiometer on the back of the board.
The potentiometer's adjustment range is divided into three sections:
• First third – Animation Mode 1
Turning the potentiometer through the first third of its range gradually increases the animation speed from slow to fast.
• Second third – Animation Mode 2
Once the potentiometer passes approximately one-third of its range, the board switches to the second animation pattern. Continuing to turn the potentiometer again increases the speed from slow to fast.
• Final third – Animation Mode 3
At approximately two-thirds of the potentiometer range, the board switches to the third animation pattern. The animation speed then increases progressively until the potentiometer reaches its maximum position.
This allows a single control to select between three different cockpit animation styles while also providing a wide range of speed adjustment within each mode.
The LED colours remain consistent between the three modes; only the animation and blinking patterns change.
This cockpit board can also be connected to the Light and Sound Bluetooth Controller using this connector.
The board features 17 RGB LEDs, compared with the 6 white LEDs on the original DeAgostini board. Constant cockpit illumination remains continuously lit while the animated LEDs create the changing cockpit effects.
The board is powered directly from the stock main circuit board and does not require any additional components to operate. It can also be powered directly from any suitable 5V power source.
Please note, this board works with the stock cockpit and the stock main circuit board.
