Cockpit Upgrade Set V3 for 1/43 DeAgostini/Fanhome Millennium Falcon

This cockpit upgrade set is sold in several configurations. The base configuration includes the main rear-wall circuit board only. It does not include the flexible LED circuit board for the side walls, and it does not include the components required to light up the navigation console. If side-wall lighting and navigation console lighting are not selected, the cockpit platform with the navigation console will be supplied with sculpted detail instead of the illuminated navigation console assembly.

Introducing the new Version 3 Cockpit Upgrade Set for the DeAgostini and Fanhome Millennium Falcon!

The main feature of this new cockpit set is the illuminated and animated rear wall, with optional illuminated side walls and an optional lit and animated navigation console. This adds a completely new level of realism to the cockpit area and makes the finished model look much more alive.

The new flexible circuit board for the side wall illumination:

The lighting effect is achieved in a simple and straightforward way using specially designed circuit boards with micro LEDs. The main circuit board lights the rear cockpit wall, while the optional flexible circuit board installs between the outer shell of the nosecone and the internal cockpit side walls, allowing the side walls to light up cleanly without complicated wiring.

When fully equipped with the side-wall lighting and illuminated navigation console, the cockpit features 41 LEDs in the rear wall, 44 LEDs in the side walls, and 9 LEDs in the navigation console, bringing the total number of LEDs to 94.

This upgrade set also uses a specially designed black plastic insert with integrated light diffusers. The insert serves as the main mounting base for the photo-etched cockpit wall parts and the lighting circuit boards.

The photo-etched rear wall and side wall parts are installed onto the front of the black plastic insert. Behind the insert, the main circuit board provides the lighting for the rear wall, while the optional flexible circuit board wraps around the insert to provide lighting for the side walls.

In addition to the lighting, the cockpit also features a refined shape and improved surface detail. The parts are printed on the latest generation of Formlabs resin printers (Form 4), giving the cockpit a cleaner and more detailed exterior and interior finish.

No cutting or modification of the existing cockpit tube is required. The assembled cockpit cone attaches to the existing cockpit tube just like the stock cockpit.

All chairs and figures are supplied as separate pieces for easier painting and finishing. Seven pilot and passenger figures are included, allowing you to choose the combination that works best for your build.

Configuration 1 – Base Cockpit Set

The base configuration includes the main rear-wall lighting circuit only. It does not include side-wall lighting or illuminated navigation console parts.

Configuration 3 – Full Lighting Set with Side-Wall Lighting and Illuminated Navigation Console

This is the full version of the cockpit lighting set. It includes the main rear-wall lighting, flexible side-wall lighting, and the lit and animated navigation console.

In this configuration, the grey cockpit platform with sculpted navigation console detail is replaced with the black cockpit platform designed for the illuminated navigation console assembly.

Power and Controller Compatibility

The cockpit can be powered in several ways. It works with our Bluetooth controller, with any 5 to 12 volt power source thanks to the onboard power regulator, or with the original stock circuit board when used with our special interface board.

On the main board, there are two connectors labeled “AUX POWER” and “CONTROLLER.”

To connect the cockpit to any 5 to 12 volt power supply, use the AUX POWER connector and move the DIP switch to the AUX POWER position. In this mode, the cockpit will turn on as soon as voltage is supplied.

To connect the cockpit to the Bluetooth controller, use the supplied 3-pin connector cable. Connect the cockpit to the corresponding 3-pin connector on the controller and move the DIP switch to the CONTROLLER position. In this mode, the cockpit will only turn on or off when the corresponding signal is sent from the Bluetooth controller.

The stock original circuit board can also be used with this cockpit when connected through our special interface board (the board will be available soon):

The Version 3 Cockpit Upgrade Set brings much more depth, detail, and realism to the Millennium Falcon cockpit. The animated rear wall, optional illuminated side walls, and optional lit navigation console make the cockpit one of the most visually impressive areas of the finished model.
